What is Scrip?
Scrip is a nationwide gift card fundraising program. Families purchase gift cards from both national and local merchants at face value. Sacred Hearts School buys the gift cards at a discount, and we pass the savings onto our Scrip fundraising program AND to families for their next year's tuition. In other words, the discount is divided 50/50 between a tuition credit, for your 2016-2017 school year, and Sacred Hearts School. Last year Sacred Hearts School sold over $520,000 of scrip and earned over $33,000. Of that profit, $16,500 went into our fundraising budget, and families received $16,500 toward this year's tuition. Your individual tuition savings depends on how often you purchase the Scrip gift cards.
See the list of national vendors at www.shopwithscrip.com, or view the Scrip form in the enclosures of our weekly newsletter to see who our local gas, food, restaurant, and other Scrip providers are in the area. The percentage earned can be from 1.5% to 25% on purchases, with special bonuses throughout the year. The families who use Scrip weekly tend to earn anywhere from $200-$500 off tuition for the next school year!
Our procedure for ordering Scrip is as follows: I strongly encourage ordering Scrip online (Fri-Mon) at www.shopwithscrip.com.
Or you may fill out a Scrip Order Form (which can be printed from our school's Family Envelope web page) and return the form, along with your payment, in the Family Envelope Tuesday morning. We will process all orders that are received by 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning and they will then be shipped to the school on Thursday and delivered that same day. Your orders can be sent home with a child or you can specify to pick it up in the school office.
Remember, this is a great way to reduce your tuition AND support Sacred Hearts!
